Intel Enhances its RSS Presence Using MyST Enterprise RSS Services

Intel's online feeds utilize the same MyST syndication services available to Blogsite clients.

MyST Blogsites® are built on an underlying set of services one of which lets clients disseminate existing content in RSS form. MyST actually offers a separate service, MyST Enterprise RSS Services, that produces, publishes and tracks the use of multiple RSS feeds.

One of the largest sites utilizing these services is rss.intel.com. Here Intel publishes several RSS feeds. The content is automatically harvested by MyST services and made available in RSS form and includes press releases, security bulletins, product information, financial/investor news and more.

Intel recently updated the look and organization of this site and added what they call chip shots. These are mini pieces of news that don’t make it into a formal press release but are still of interest to outsiders. Once RSSified by MyST these items are fully searchable by Google and other engines, vastly increasing the exposure of Intel’s news content.

This ability to gather content from existing sources and publish them online is one of MyST’s strengths. Several of our blogsite clients also use this feature. Colorado Mountain Express, for example, uses this capability to automatically poll and publish hourly road condition reports on their blogsite.

The automatic production of content not only gives readers the latest news and information, it improves the visibility of the site. Search engines rank sites more highly when they notice relevant and current content appearing on a regular basis.
