Mobile Content and Mobile Search in Real Estate

It's undeniable - the benefits of integrating mobile solutions in real estate are significant and likely to become an important differentiator in your business blogging initiatives.
Over the next four to six years, the phone combined with voice services will win the Mobile Search race for access to property buyers, ease-of-use and lead generation.

When I hear the term "mobile search" my eyes gloss over a bit because I'm not really sure what that means. It's my experience that most telcos provide proprietary Internet search solutions that are specifically designed for a particular hardware or firmware solution. I don't particularly like them because they have their own user interfaces and they're closed systems. As such, they look and work differently on each mobile phone service - there's nothing common between the vast mobile search solutions that I've seen, and rarely do you get the feeling that these search solutions are giving you unbiased results from the "web". I've written more extensively about this problem in "The Difference Between [Desktop] Search and Mobile Search".

VoicePad® (for real estate) appears to have disrupted the whole idea of mobile search by removing the need for a device-based browser or user interface. They moved it to the keypad and voice recognition. This makes sense - telephones are really good for phone calls - who knew.

The folks at WAV Group brought this to my attention with a well-written whitepaper about Mobile Search. My only criticism is the title - it's a term that still causes my eyes to glaze over - too ambiguous. The content is excellent and includes property buyer scenarios and a some good background information about the adoption rate of cell and smart phones in the United States.

Some time ago we anticipated mobile-oriented solutions would emerge as relatively important aspects of all content publishing objectives. Today, MyST Blogsite® includes a mobile edition option that creates a fully browsable version of your business blogsite that works on almost every Web-enabled cell phone. You can see an example of this by subscribing to the Vail Valley Partnership mobile blogsite content. We also built a framework for integrating services such as VoicePad® directly into business blogsites. In addition to using VoicePad® in the usual and customary ways, this is an important extension of a consistent approach - create lead funnels that are fully measurable and trackable regardless of how your prospects come to know about your products. MyST's innovative VSLT tracking solution makes it very easy to measure the volume and direction of outbound traffic - key success indicators for businesses that blog.

MyST Blogsite® includes an advanced plugin feature for site designers and authors that allows them to create visitor attention components. Components are used embed calls-to-action and it's designed in a way that integrates with VoicePad®.

MyST Blogsite® for Real Estate also includes the ability to easily attach property details to any blog post. This capability tends to create additional findability for your posts in relation to your real estate listings. VoicePad® property ID's are also supported in the Blogsite property details database which allows your prospects to leverage VoicePad® data from their desktop browsers or through the mobile edition.
