C-Loans Uses Blog as a Domain Expertise Resource

C-Loans uses MyST Blogsite® to create visibility for their commercial mortgage business but they also use it as a sustainable knowledge library.

As you know, I have written about 60 blog articles that I intended someday to use to train my children in commercial mortgage finance. Well, my oldest son, George IV, successfully graduated with a BS in Business from Ohio State last month.

I have just spent the past three weeks training him using my blog articles, and we got through all 60 articles.

What joy! What satisfaction!!! So thanks, guys. Please be sure to keep backing these up.

George Blackburn, III, Esq.

We often forget that while business blogging is great for creating more visibility and attention, it's also a system for documenting business knowledge. Consistent writing for your future customers and search referrals yields a by-product; your businesses domain expertise is continually being documented. Indeed, you are building the most comprehensive library of stuff your business knows about, a strategic learning resource that future employees and business partners can use.

The owner of C-Loans, George Blackburn, is in the process of passing his business knowledge on to his children. Where did he start? His blogsite of more than two years provided a wealth of insight, understanding of his market, and details that are invaluable for future managers at his company.

Blogging inward is a term first coined by InfoWorld's CTO (Chad Dickerson) back in 2004. Since then, many companies have come to realize the benefits of creating content to avert corporate amnesia and other wasted efforts and inefficient loss of knowledge. Business blogs provide a sustainable model for sharing outwardly while also reaping benefits internally.

George's comments represent a clear understanding of knowledge transfer and the strategic value of everything he writes across more than just the dimension of search referral attraction. You're welcome George, and no worries about backups - we do that every day, multiple secure servers protect your knowledge.

MyST also supports secure (private blog channels) that can be added to your Blogsite for knowledge management purposes. Contact us if you'd like to chat about using your blogsite for internal and external blogging.
