The Case for Enterprise Blogging

Blogging has a role within the enterprise, both for executives and employees; make sure you consider where this is heading in the long run.

There's no question that business blogging is making a presence in enterprises. When I see statements like:

"...these tools don't make sense for every organization, particularly those in which central control over content is a major concern." -- Line56 Staff

... it reminds of previous technological adoptions made by enterprises. Instant messaging is a good example - most enterprises would not be opperationally efficient without IM. But journalists made broad sweeping claims [in 1998] that peer-to-peer systems didn't make sense for every organization. News flash - they were wrong.

Blogging (in general) makes sense in almost every situation where enterprise content is captured, managed, and disseminated. Like many bloggers, this journalist simply can't imagine a blogging system that meets enterprise requirements.
