Of course, there is no Official Answer, but to me, blog site and blogsite have different meanings. Thus, which term you use depends on what you really mean.
Here are the conventions I follow.
A blog site is the location of a weblog.
A blogsite is a weblog application that integrates multiple content channels (i.e., weblogs, syndicated feeds, private forums, FAQs, etc.) to address specific business requirements.
Since a blogsite is a type of application, there are many possible types of blogsites. Blogsite Gold™ and Blogsite Platinum™ are brand names for blogsite applications for enhancing Internet visibility and brand impressions.
I spoke with a group of bloggers in Phoenix recently. What I found is that very few had any business from their blogs despite a lot of effort.
