Is it time for CEOs to take up blogging?

CEOs in most companies are responsible for setting the tone and message of a company. Blogs are probably a good choice for extending the reach of his/her message.

You probably work for a company that has a CEO. How does your CEO communicate with you? An all-hands meeting once a quarter? Maybe a handshake at the Christmas party? It's likely you'd read your CEO's blog if she were writing one.

"Internal audiences also want to hear from the top brass. A blog lets employees know what's happening in their organization and helps manage messaging, sometimes usurping the all-powerful grapevine."Susan Solomon

Not everyone believes CEO's have what it takes to write a blog—I disagree. Blogs work in many scenarios; pithiness is not a requirement in every case. CEO's are smart people and they surround themselves with communicators that can help.
