Years ago Jeff Jochum (a dear friend and skiing companion) looked at my idea to build a platform to meet future corporate blogging requirements and said - "This'll never fly as long as they call these things blogs". ;-) Well, Jeff was wrong, but he's still a pretty good skier at least. Back to the subject - ExpansionPlus entered the corporate blogging market after great research and consultation with Sally Falkow. When firms of this stature move quickly in a new (and somewhat chaotic) space, it's meaningful data. An informal eMarketer survey finds that just 4% of major US corporations have blogs available to the public ? and even fewer produce active sites with the link and feedback features that most readers associate with true blogs.
I spoke with a group of bloggers in Phoenix recently. What I found is that very few had any business from their blogs despite a lot of effort.
